Published in 1932, Trovarsi is the “comedy” that Pirandello wrote for Marta Abba. Written in August 1931, the play tells the story of an actress, Donata Genzi, who is going through a crisis because she can no longer “find herself”. Forced by her art to interpret the lives of her characters, she has lost her own identity.
Trovarsi enjoyed moderate success on stage. The play was also performed abroad and a film adaptation was planned.
