In “Maschere nude”, Pirandello also collected a trilogy of texts (1921-1926), the only ones referred to as tragedies, which, after his previous experimentalism, marked a return to order in the name of classicism, at the root of which we can recognize Eschilo and Shakespeare reinterpreted through Ibsen, Strindberg, Maeterlinck, and de Curel.
